THE PHC
The Perth Hebrew Congregation (PHC) is a strong, dynamic Modern Orthodox congregation that has been at the heart of the Perth Jewish community for more than 128 years.
The PHC welcomes Modern Orthodox Jewish people and families who move to Perth from interstate or overseas, with complimentary full membership for one year. This includes dedicated seats in Shule, preferential pricing for functions and events, bar and bat mitzvah classes, youth programs and more!
The PHC proudly owns and operates the Ruth Landau Harp Early Learning Centre (RLH ELC), the only Jewish and kosher ELC in Perth
for children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age.
Both the Perth Mikvah and the kosher food centre are on the PHC campus in Menora WA.

RABBI LIEBERMAN
Rabbi Lieberman is the Chief Rabbi of the Perth Hebrew Congregation, a role he has held since moving to Australia eight years ago. With a deep commitment to community leadership, Rabbi Lieberman guides congregants of all ages through teaching, mentorship, and pastoral care.
Rabbi Lieberman holds an MSc in Mental Health Psychology and has a particular interest in ADHD, integrating his expertise in mental health with spiritual guidance to support individuals and families in navigating life’s challenges. In addition to his congregational work, he serves as an Army Chaplain with the Australian Defence Force, currently attached to the 13th Engineer Regiment, providing spiritual and moral support to service members.
Known for his engaging storytelling, humour, and his ability to make complex ideas accessible, Rabbi Lieberman blends Jewish texts, philosophy, and contemporary psychology to offer practical insights relevant to everyday life. His approach emphasizes values such as resilience, compassion and purpose, creating meaningful connections both within the Jewish community and beyond.
AVIEL DAHAN
Rav Aviel Dahan joined the Perth Hebrew Congregation in 2025 as the PHC EmPower Youth Director. He received his rabbinic training at Machon Amiel Straus of the Ohr Torah Stone network and holds an MA in Political Economy from the Hebrew University.
Before coming to Perth, Rav Aviel served as a school rabbi in Athens and worked across a wide range of informal education settings, including the Tzofim, the Jewish Agency, and youth communities in Israel and abroad. He is also the co-founder of an NGO in Israel that trains organizations to prevent harassment by promoting upstander behaviour.
Rav Aviel teaches rabbis internationally on the ethical and effective use of Generative AI, and he is passionate about using innovation, Torah, and community connection to empower the next generation.
